January BA Report
Negotiations
Mt.Baker: We will meet with Mt.Baker back at the table February 2nd at 10am for their first wage counter. Tentative agreements have been made on most proposals, leaving wages and benefit contributions left to negotiate.
Cornish Contract: Ratified by all three IA locals and awaiting signatures from all three reps.
5th Avenue: We met back at the table several times this month with management and came to a tentative agreement on a one-year contract extension. The extension will include a 6 month wage freeze with a 6% wage increase in the latter 6 months. The unit also negotiated daywork minimum call and matching touring crew numbers with local union members from Local 887 and 488.
Seattle Opera: Both Local 887 and 488 have met consistently throughout December and January to help participate in restructuring the shop and interviewing candidates for a new costume manager.
Seattle Shakespeare Company: We began negotiations in late December and have already begun to Tentatively Agree to much of the IATSE boiler plate contract language. This is a brand new contract that will need to be negotiated from the ground up. The following dates, our international rep and I will be meeting to discuss more specific, up and coming proposals with our joint Book It and Seattle Shake’s bargaining unit. Feb 6th 11am, Feb 13th 11am. We will be meeting back at the table with Seattle Shake’s management Feb 9th at 2pm.
Book-It: : Like Seattle Shakes, we began negotiations in late December and have already begun to Tentatively Agree to much of the IATSE boiler plate contract language. The following dates, our international rep and I will be meeting to discuss more specific, up and coming proposals with our joint Book It and Seattle Shake’s bargaining unit. Feb 6th 11am, Feb 13th 11am. We will meet back at the table with Book-It management February 16th at 11am.
General Contract: Local 887 will be updating our General Contract for 2023 and sending out new Letters of Agreement with our venues that use this contract for their venue’s events.

Upcoming Negotiations: Seattle Repertory Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet
I will be reaching out to these bargaining teams in the next month to begin reviewing current contract and discussing bargaining ideas.
Local office news:
Hiring Hall Review: The local’s Dispatch Governess Board will meet to review the Hiring Hall List on February 6th at 10am. We will review everyone’s placement on the list according to our Hiring Hall Rules.
Dispatch Committee: Secretary Chris Moad, with the help of Veronica Dimoff will be working together to assemble those who have volunteered to form this committee to review our current Hiring Hall Rules for necessary changes or updates to be voted on by the Membership.
2023 Audit: Our accountants will perform a voluntary audit of the Local’s finances along with performing our annual taxes. Our financial secretary (Imelda Daranciang), office clerk (Erin Perona), and I will meet with them at our office to begin the audit February 16th.

January 30th 6:30 pm : General Membership Meeting 6:30 pm. This meeting is in person at the Labor Temple. We will be swearing in new members, new E-board officers, and ratifying the Teatro Zinzanni Contract.
February 20th: E-board Meeting 6:30pm via zoom.
February 27th : General Membership Meeting 6:30pm via zoom
