The Western Washington Theatrical Training Trust is a great opportunity for Local 887 workers to continue expanding their knowledge and training. Workers and their employers both contribute to funding the trust, and classes are open to everyone.
If you would like to take a class with the Training Trust but are having difficulty paying for it, please contact us and we will do our best to find a solution.

BASIC SEWING MACHINE SKILLS
The goal of this two-day workshop is to provide the participants with basic sewing machine skills, knowledge and techniques. By the end of the second workshop session, attendees will be able to use a sewing machine accurately and with confidence. The Workshop will be carried out over two 4-hour sessions. The FIRST SESSION will be focusing on the sewing machine itself and how to use it. The SECOND SESSION will focus on a sewing project. Each participant will be giving the materials and step-by-step instruction in order to make a tote bag.
This workshop will take place at the 5th Avenue Theatre Costume Shop on Saturday August 10 and Sunday August 11. Each session will begin at 11 am and conclude at 3 pm.
The Registration is for both sessions of the workshop and is limited to 8 attendees.

HOW TO PUT ON A WIG
In this 4-hour beginning class, with many hands-on practice opportunities, you will learn the specific parts of a wig, the basic techniques of hair preparation, and the various methods of securing a wig for theater productions. This class is intended for those who are new to wigs or those who are looking to brush up on their wig skills. Come prepared to have your own head prepped and wigged as attendees will practice on each other.
This class will be held at the New Labor Temple, Saturday, August 24 from 1-5 pm.
